Saul Bass, who was one of the great creators of classic credits, did this title sequence for "Walk on the Wild Side," an early Jane Fonda/late Barbara Stanwyck film in 1962 that is forgotten today.
It's not a great film - no reason to go hunt it down - what you see here is absolutely the best part of the whole thing.
The song itself is a bit of a classic as well.
I'll post other favorite title sequences here from time to time, it's a whole separate art form from film-making.
